My brush with wildlife and death.

Every morning on my way home from work, I stop at Speedway and get a coffee (it rides on the bike nice and don't spill, much) then take a different route from Comstock over to Westnege and I stop at 1 of the malls, there I drink my coffee and do my bible study app that's on my phone.

After I leave, I think about what I have read and how it should work in my life. As I'm thinking about this mornings lesson, riding south on 131 about 3/4 of a mile north of Flowerfield Rd. I see the car in front of me swerve to the left so I swerve to the right as I see some thing laying in the middle of the road right on the dotted line.

It was a BIG goose, facing west and not moving. I pass this goose and I feel some thing tug at my heart. Was it GOD?? I think so, I felt he was telling me that I had to go back and save this goose. "But LORD, (I thought), I'm on my way home, I don't have time for this". He says "I saved you though my son JESUS, now the goose gets saved by you". OK, so I turn around at Muskrat Rd, and go back north in a hurry. 60mph, 70mph, 85mph...slow down and make a turn around and gas on it back south again, the whole time I'm praying "PLEASE LORD, let him be alive and safe when I get to him...PLEASE". There was alot of traffic at 5:30am, more than normal.

I slow down, looking for him, then I see it. Goose parts ALL OVER the highway. I was too late to help him. I see this torn up back end of a goose now on the right shoulder and figure I should at least move what's left into the grass. I pull up next to it and I am shocked at first, then I start to laugh. It WAS a GOOSE, and there WAS goose parts every where. AND, if I could have found all of his parts and had 15 tubes of super glue then I could have put him all back together again.

That's right folks, it was a plastic decoy goose that I tried to save. I could have crashed and burned trying to save a plastic goose. I believe that GOD really did want to me to go back there for some reason. I believe that he really told me to do it. And I don't know why he wanted me to do it yet, that's some thing I still need to figure out. The bible lesson today was about Mosses doing what GOD told him to do in Exodus and GOD told me to turn around. Mosses didn't want to do what he was told, and I didn't either...but he did and so did I.

Maybe what I plan on doing IS what GOD wants me to do. Maybe this was his way of telling me I'm on the right path for once. I don't know, but I trust GOD to give me a nudge if I'm not doing what he wants me to do.

As for the goose, i did move what was left of him off the road...Rest In Peace little fella, your working days as a decoy are done, now you can relax and never have to work again.

Thank you LORD for the lesson, and thank you for having your hand on the car that almost mowed me down this morning, and for allowing me a safe trip home and 1 more day this side of the grass.
